Abounding fresh spring energy with notes of steamed edamame, sugar snap peas, and lightly toasted walnuts

Blue Butterfly Pea flowers are native to Thailand, Malaysia and can be found in other parts of SE Asia. The flowers have a high content of anthocyanins, a family of red, blue and purple plant pigments widely researched for their flavonoid benefits. In Thailand, the flowers have been used for centuries for hair and scalp health in ancient types of shampoo. Nowadays, the flowers are very popular in tea and herbal blends because they easily infuse their vivid blue pigment. The flowers are infused in water, sugar, milk or oil as a natural food color. The blue infusion color can change before your eyes to purple and fuchsia with the addition of lemon, lime or other ingredients that change the pH of the infusion (displayed in the image gallery above). Many new cocktail recipes and cool, color changing herbal teas are being created with this wonderful flower from Thailand.

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Thailand

Chiang Mai in northern Thailand is a historic city on the Ping River. Once the capital of the Lanna Kingdom from the 13th to 18th centuries, its rich heritage endures in temples such as Wat Phra That Doi Suthep and Wat Chedi Luang, as well as festivals like Yi Peng and Songkran. The scenic, forested mountains surrounding Chiang Mai make up one of Rishi's most important regions for organic tea production.

    Butterfly Pea Flower

Have been enjoying this tea from Rishi for years - it’s a light tea, not too sweet, and positively gorgeous. This is a beautiful (aesthetically and ritually) way to end the day - or reflect and refresh at any time.

    Dreamy

This tea has a mild flavor and is beautiful to look at. The best part is I tend to have more vivid dreams if I consume it close to bedtime. I keep coming back to it for this reason.

    Versatile

I steep this with either lavender blossom loose leaf or chamomile lavender loose leaf mix. Both are flavorful and have different flavors. Most importantly, both are very calming during the work day and before bed!
